METRO Light Rail

Phoenix made history on December 27, 2008, when the METRO Light Rail opened as the largest light rail launch in U.S. history. The $1.4 billion, 20-mile system connected Phoenix, Tempe, and Mesa, and brought rail transit back to the city for the first time in more than 60 years. More than 90,000 people turned out for the grand opening, with lines stretching an hour long at stations across the route.

I was the in-house senior visual designer for the project from construction through launch and into future expansion planning. The work spanned the full range: print, digital, display, environmental, and community outreach materials across all three cities. I also served as illustrator and photographer on the project.
